Dr. Eduardo Schindler
Dr. Eduardo Schindler, 56, joined EPEX in December of 2014 as Managing Director.
Dr. Schindler serves or has served in the Boards of Atlantic Grupa (Croatia), Droga Kolinska (Slovenia, Vice-Chairman), MAF Group Holding (Zürich), SEA (Luxembourg, Chairman), and SweetSpot Capital as well as India GreenFuel Fund (Mauritius, Vice-Chairman). He is also founder and former Chairman of the Chilean Chapter of the Swiss-Latinamerican Chamber of Commerce.
His prior working experience includes eight years in investment banking with UBS Warburg; three years in management consulting with McKinsey&Co.; three years in the family-office of a leading Swiss entrepreneur; and two years in management consulting in Santiago, Chile.
He is the founder and CEO of 2thePoint, a Firm established in 2003, with offices in Zurich, Dubai, Singapore and Hong Kong, and that provides strategy, M&A, and private-equity services mainly to industrial families, entrepreneurs and investors holding substantial equity interests in privately-held companies.
He is co-founder of AlpinumBank in the Principality of Liechtenstein, where he served as CEO from 2001 to 2003 and as member of the Board of Directors until 2005.
The professional record comprises the generation, structuring and execution of a variety of transactions and advisory assignments including IPOs, M&As, privatizations, private placements, private-equity investments, leveraged acquisitions, strategic advice, project finance, and extensive valuation practice of public as well as privately-held companies. He has advised European, Middle- and Far-East clients in a wide range of industries including banking, wealth management, CSP and PV solar energy, biofuels, watches&jewelry, healthcare, drug development, electric utilities, telecommunications, construction, textiles, functional&sports nutrition, magnet components, and sanitary ware products. The overall value of transactions completed so far is around CHF 2 billion.
Dr. Schindler is officially recognized as an expert and knowledgeable representative by the Admission Board of the SWX Swiss Exchange to act on behalf of security issuers - i.e., is authorized to structure and manage the initial public offering (IPO) of companies into the SWX.
He is as well a faculty member of the Swiss Finance Institute in Zürich, and has been responsible for a 3-days seminar under the topics (i) Valuation and Financing of privately-held Companies and (ii) Succession planning&execution for the Mittelstand. He is also a faculty member of various educational institutions where he regularly lectures in Corporate Finance for owners and senior managers of European companies. He has also been a professor of economics at the Catholic University of Chile, and a research assistant at the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva.
He is regularly invited as speaker in the fields of private equity, M&A, and wealth management - and most recently in places like Switzerland, Germany, Dubai, Singapore, Vietnam, Poland, Malaysia, and Chile.
He holds a PhD degree in international economics from the Graduate Institute of International Studies (Geneva) and a MA in economics from the Catholic University of Chile.
Dr. Schindler is married with three children. He grew up in Santiago, Chile, has lived in Switzerland since 1982 and has been resident in Zurich since 1989. He is a Chilean, Swiss and Italian citizen, speaks fluent Spanish, English, German, French, and Italian, and has a good command of Portuguese.
